The Department of dermatology deals with skin, hair and nail
disorders and also cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases.
Concerns related to cosmetology i.e. acne scars, pigmentation
baldness ore also catered to.
Vitiligo (Leupodenma), Psoriasis and pediatric dermatology queries
receive special attention.
Apart from clinical diagnosis and treatment, the department-phomdes
for diagnostic skin, biopsy and histopathology, skin scraping
(KOH examination) for fungal infections, Tzanck Smear for viral
infections (e.g. Hempes) and bullous dermatoses (e.g. pimphigus)
Inpatient Dermatology Services
Patients
of acute drug reactions, viral exanthems, extenoues Immuno-bullous
disorders (Pemphigus, Pemphigoid) and collagen - vascular diseases
are admitted and treated under the expert guidance and care
of one dermatologist in association with other concerned departments
(i.e. Internal Medicine, paediatrics, ophthalmologist etc.)
referrals related to dermatological conditions from different
departments and promptly attended to.
