in children from birth to adolescence. The Paediatrics Department
at NMC Hospital provides comprehensive pediatric clinical and
support services, and is the regional pediatric referral center
for western U.P. The hospital features highly trained, dedicated
professionals and advanced technology and facilities to care
for children from birth through adolescence.
Comprehensive services include inpatient and emergency care,
outpatient clinics and programs, plus education and support
for families and health professionals. As a specialty hospital,
within a full-service acute care hospital, the facility is a
unique resource for pediatric health care.
The mission of the center is to improve the health of all children
by delivering high-quality, cost-effective pediatric services
with compassion, understanding and respect.
The center also helps area families keep children safe and healthy
through outreach programs, such as free immunizations and educational
programs for schools and civic groups.
Child Psychology
Psychological
and behavioral counseling services address emotional, behavioral
and scholastic problems of children. Delayed developmental milestones,
learning difficulties, poor concentration, conduct disorders,
interpersonal relationship problems, copying with stress are
handled by experienced staff in a supportive environment.
Neonatology
Neonatology
is the specialised care of the sick and the new born including
premature and tiny babies. The advent of newer therapeutic modalities,
artificial life-support techniques and infection control mechanism
has tremendously decreased mortality in newborn. The Neonatal
ICU at NMC Hospital is 6 bedded equipped with all the latest
facilities for the newborn.
These
advances, backed by conventional neonate management technology
(oxygen levels in the blood, blood gas analysis etc.) would
be of no use unless a skilled, dedicated professional team utilizes
them. The ICU team is highly qualified and is capable of dealing
with complicated surgical cases.
It
is important with every baby to be managed professionally in
the first month of life and specially the first hour. Improved
investigation back ups even before birth (foetal echo and ultrasound
of the head) well-baby clinics and parent support networks have
come a long way in changing the face of neonatology medicine.
Adolescent
Medicine
Addresses
teenage concerns involving physical and physiological needs
and various ailments. Services provided include psychological
testing and counseling, assessment and management of behavioral,
sexual and various other problems including enuresis, obesity
and feeding fads.
Psychological
and Behavior Counseling: Psychological and behavioral counseling
services address emotional, behavioral and scholastic problems

Surgery
Our pediatric surgeons provide the expertise required in the
care and management of both simple and complex surgical disorders
of the newborn, infant, child and adolescent.
Our surgeons are certified to perform a variety of surgical
procedures, including respiratory disorder, gastrointestinal,
abdominal wall defects, inguinal hernia, trauma, tumors and
IV access.
