Psychiatry is growing field. With urbanization, industrialization, westernization, population movement into urban area, working couples, increasing competition in almost all spheres of life-psychiatric morbidity is increasing. Infact incidences of illnesses such as depression are on the rise.

Keeping all these in mind, the Psychiatriy department at NMC Hospital, Noida envisages to have a holistic approach in terms of providing services to the population.

The specialists' services will be available to children, adolescents, the young, adults and the aged.

Treatment for all psychiatric problem/ illnesses are available: schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, anxiety, insomnia, phobias, panic disorder, problems in children and adolescents, marital problems, drugs and substance abuse, alcohol dependence, psychosexual disorders etc to name a few.

Presently available treatment modalities include outpatient treatment, indoor (hospitalization) treatment, psychotherapy/ counseling, behaviour therapy, psychoeducational therapy for drug and alcohol dependence, narcoanalysis, abreaction, electroenvulsive therapy, stress management, pharmacotherapy, naloxone challenge, disulfiram-ethanol challenge and others.

Services of psychologist is also available. Evaluation of intelligence, psychodiagnostics/ psychometric evaluation, neuropsychological testing, counseling, child guidance etc are available.

The department plans to have special focus in the following areas: child guidance and adolescent problems, drug and alcohol problems, school mental health and stress management.
